Spring Get Active Challenge - Kill It On The Soccer Field

Happy Monday!

How was everyone's weekend?! I had a busy and productive weekend filled with work at the barn, puppy play time with Diesel and Neville, and a super fun photoshoot with Elise and Nicole Schultz! I can't wait to show you all the fun content that we shot very soon.

Today's blog post features the third idea in my spring get active challenge: playing soccer! Similar to gymnastics, basketball, or ballet, soccer is one of those sports that I feel like every child did when they were little to see if they liked it. I actually played soccer in eighth grade and freshman year of high school and wished I would've stuck with it. So, it's time I got back into it!

Similar to my tennis get active challenge idea, my goal is to find inexpensive but fun ideas because we're all ballin' on a budget #amiright? Ha! This entire idea is super cheap because all you need to buy is the ball if you don't already have one.

Many parks have soccer fields that you can play on for free. I will say, the park I visited had the net down for some reason when I went so I would recommend checking to see when it is up or down so that you don't make any plans that have to be changed!

I found this Wilson Soccer Ball at Walmart for only ten dollars. When you're just playing around for fun, you don't have to spend a ton of money on soccer cleats, shin guards, or anything like that. However, if you join a league or something like that I would recommend the products above because they will make a difference and they do protect you!

Something I had forgotten about when I purchased this soccer ball is that soccer balls come in a range of sizes. The size that I bought is a size five. Nike has a great resource on their website that helps you see which size you should be getting based on age and circumference (in inches) of the ball.

You can find soccer balls and all of the additional gear stated above wherever sporting goods are sold. When I used to play I believe I purchased my cleats at Dick's Sporting Goods. Something to know as well, is that you don't have to spend a TON of money on cleats either. I'm pretty confident that the ones I got were not super expensive. You can find cleats as cheap as $27 at Dick's Sporting Goods! So, it just depends on how invested you want to get.

That's all for this week's get active challenge! Will you be hitting the soccer field this week? Let me know. I'd love to see how you're getting active this spring!
