The Best Horseback Riding Boots For Beginners

Happy Monday!

How has everyone been? I feel like it's been quite some time since I've really talked to you guys. I have a few life updates that I'll be sharing soon (I know I've said that before haha but I promise it's coming!) but in the meantime, I wanted to share my favorite horseback riding boots for beginners.

In a recent post I shared that I don't recommend investing a ton of money in gear right off the bat only because it is such an expensive sport. Initially, I didn't have about $300 to spend on tall horseback riding boots, but I could pull together $100 for a good all-purpose boot that I'll be sharing with you all today!

Chandler and I have always been a huge fan of Ariat boots. Ariat is known for being a high-quality brand with any of their products. They have everyday western boots, day-to-day working boots, competitive equestrian boots, and more.

When I first started riding, my trainer knew I couldn't shell out a ton of money on expensive boots since I was so new. Because of this, she suggested the Ariat Terrain Waterproof boot. When it comes to riding, she said you want a boot that has grips on the bottom plus a slight heel so you can hold on to the stirrup.

In addition to being a great beginner horseback riding boot, these boots really are a great all-purpose paddock boot. Anytime I'm going to the barn to do chores like cleaning out stalls, getting hay, walking through the muddy pastures to bring in the horses, etc., these boots are always my go-to.

These boots feature the following:

  • Waterproof full-grain leather
  • Moisture-wicking lining
  • Shock-absorbing EVA midsole
  • Duratread™ outsole
  • And more!
I grabbed all of those facts directly from Ariat's website where they have more information about these boots.

I have had these boots for over a year and they haven't gotten run down or anything (and I use them a lot!). These boots specifically come in two different colors: copper and distressed brown. I'm wearing the copper color. I would recommend going with that if you plan on being in the mud - it blends in better haha!

Ariat does have a ton of different options for their Terrain boots, so if you would like to see all of the options, I have already searched their website and have the options here.

If you're looking for an all-purpose boot that is great for horseback riding, everyday working, and more, the Ariat Terrain Waterproof boot is for you. Do you have this boot? I'd love to know! Or, if you have any questions about the boot I'd love to answer them for you.

Thanks for reading!
