Sparkles and Sunshine: First Air BnB Experience: Barndominium, Canton Georgia

First Air BnB Experience: Barndominium, Canton Georgia

Happy Friday everyone!

How was everyone's Christmas? I feel like I'm still recovering from the holiday madness. I took off the entire week from work and have been at my parents house back home in Orlando and it's been nice to get away from it all.

A few weeks ago I stayed at my first Air BnB. I have always heard wonders about Air BnB but I've never actually tried it before. I wanted to take this fun trip to Georgia to go to a Christmas tree farm, see what fall actually looks like (cough cough Florida does not understand that cough cough haha), and to just have a fun weekend away. Unfortunately the weather was absolutely horrible and we couldn't do anything while we were there. BUT, we were able to stay at the most perfect Air BnB that I'll be sharing with you all today!

As I was scrolling through Air BnB's website, I stumbled upon this residence called the Barndominium. For my fellow equestrians, THIS is the Air BnB for you! Because of the weather, I wasn't able to get any photos of the outside of the barndominium, however, the photos on the listing of the outside of the property are 100% accurate!

The Barndoninium features two separate rooms with one shared bathroom/shower. If you're going with a larger group (this residence sleeps 6), then sharing a bathroom isn't really that big of a deal. We had four of us in one room and a couple we didn't know in the other and still didn't have any issues sharing!

This place is dog friendly which is nice, the owner just always requests a heads up and some information about your dog just so she knows. Which, if I was the owner I would do that too.

Speaking of owners, the owner Danielle was absolutely fantastic! She was wonderful to work with from day one and always made sure we were taken care of. She knew I was excited that there were horses on the property (which I'll get into next), so she was wonderful about me being so horse needy haha!

Now, for the reason I chose this option. In addition to it having an incredibly reasonable price point ($99 per night), this place is also connected to a barn, where you can board your horses for only $30 more a night! How incredible is that?! Say you're driving through Georgia on your way to a show, or maybe you're moving to a new state and need to take a break from driving. The barn was absolutely beautiful, and with six stalls, large secured pastures, and a tractor supply and feed store both within 15 minutes, you're all set for your stay with your beloved horse.

Plus, there's a nice large wash rack that you can use to get your horse ready to go and to get to the barn, all you have to do is walk right in. There's a door right on the other side of your room that's easily connected!

If you're like me and don't have a horse yet, Danielle does have her own horses there at the barn, plus others that are being boarded there that you can meet. Of course I would ask permission first! :) She had two beautiful Friesians, a Hanoverian, a thoroughbred and I believe a Percheron. I told her prior to coming that I was bringing a bag of peppermints and she thought that was awesome! Trust me when I say all the horses were my best friends for a day haha!

Last but not least, before you go, you have to sign the guest book! It's really cool to see everyone who has signed it and stayed there. Plus, the book is filled with the sweetest letters because it truly is a place everyone would recommend.

Even though the weather wasn't great and we weren't able to enjoy our trip to the fullest, this location truly made me happy. I was able to be surrounded by horses the entire time which made it much better. If you're looking for a place to stay in Canton (right by Alpharetta), Georgia, this is the place for you. It's also only about 45 minutes from Atlanta if you want to visit the city but not stay in it.

If you have any questions about the Barndominium, please let me know. I would love for anyone to stay here as well!
