I LOVE music! I feel like I have a playlist for just about everything: taking a shower, driving, and of course working out! I listen to a little bit of everything but my workout playlist primarily consists of pop and rap music, old and new.

(rap music gets me pumped 😅)

It is finally spring time in Florida (even though the first day of spring isn't until March)! I love this time of the year in Florida because it's not too hot and not too cold. The weather is perfect for outdoor activities with family and friends. 

If I had to pick my absolute favorite thing about spring though it would be fashion! I absolutely love being able to wear sleeveless tops and flowy dresses. 


My style mainly consists of soft pastels, lace details and of course, lots of sparkles. But don't get me wrong, I love wearing black, red and other bold statement colors. If your style is similar to mine then you're going to love the boutique, Morning Lavender

Bold Bean Cafe Jax Beach, FL

Jacksonville Beach has so many hidden treasures! From its' unique boutiques, to cozy cafe's, this city has it all. Today I am going to be talking about Bold Bean CafĂ©. If you love coffee (or tea like myself), and are looking for a new cafĂ© to visit, this is it!


When I was in college I had multiple study spots: the library, Starbucks, etc. As soon as I walked into Bold Bean I immediately saw many college students sitting at high top tables with their laptops studying. If you're in college and are looking for a new study spot, I would definitely recommend this café.


I personally love to unwind at these types of places. I grab my newest Cosmo magazine, some headphones and an ice cold-tea and I'm all set!

Every town has it's own unique attractions. Whether you head out for a fun picnic in the park or browse the shops and eat at a cute cafĂ©, you'll definitely have a great time!


Stay in!

There is no rule that says you have to go out on Valentine's Day! Sometimes there's nothing better than staying in with your girls for a fun night of face masks and movies or cooking up a romantic dinner with your significant other. This year, skip the crowds and reservations and enjoy some quality time!
 

Go on a weekend getaway!
 
Since Valentine's Day falls on a week day this year, it may be easier for some to wait until the weekend to celebrate. There's nothing better than a fun weekend getaway and you don't even have to go far! Sometimes going just an hour away is far enough to get the romantic and fun vacation that you want. Chandler and I spent our first Valentine's Day weekend in Savannah, Georgia and we had the best time! There is so much to see in Savannah and it's the perfect place to spend a weekend with your significant other or your best friends. So grab your IPhone and look at your maps app and see what's near you. You never know what cool place could be really close that you've never even heard of!


Adopt a pet!

I mean really, what's better than puppy kisses? There are so many dogs and cats in need of their perfect home and what better day to welcome them home then on Valentine's Day? Chandler and I got Diesel right before Christmas and it was so nice being able to spoil him with toys and celebrate his first holiday with him as a family.

My New Love For Yoga

Since I was little I have always participated in sports or stayed active in some way. Even in college I participated in every dance contest that my sorority competed in. Once I graduated college and started a 9-5 desk job it became harder to stay active. With the help of my friend Savanna (link to her insta at the bottom) and her personalized fitness routines, I started getting active again before work every morning. 

I was finally starting to see progress when I hurt myself at a Pilates class. I didn't know I did it at the time, but two days later I couldn't do anything. It all hurt. I thought the pain would go away on it's own but it didn't. I went to the chiropractor many times and unfortunately didn't see the results I needed like most do. When I told a coworker of my struggles, they recommended I try try physical therapy.


At this point I thought it couldn't hurt. I went to Jacksonville Orthopedic Institute (JOI) and immediately started seeing a difference. I was finally able to bend over again without it hurting. I was able to start getting back into a fitness routine. I also learned techniques that would prevent future injuries.

Now, I'm telling you all of this because if it wasn't for this experience, I would have never tried yoga. I tried yoga once in high school and hated it because 1) I'm not flexible AT ALL 2) all of the movements were too "slow" for me. I specifically remember doing a stretch and finally feeling confident until I looked up at the instructor and saw that she was taking it to a whole new level of difficulty.

I tried yoga again because I was told the stretching would really help me and it has! It is so good for you because not only does it tone your body and teach you balance, but it also teaches you how to slow things down. I NEVER do that! I'll be honest, I still prefer workouts that are more fast paced like spin or kick boxing but I have such a love for yoga now. Yoga allows me to stretch, relax, and take a break from the world.


If you haven't tried yoga yet I highly recommend it! There are so many yoga studios or group fitness classes at gyms that are absolutely wonderful. I currently go to Bailey's Gym and love their yoga classes.
